The Shit Is Spreading – Who’s Next?

The response to Shit Runners Club has been nothing short of amazing.

In the coming weeks, four new clubs will launch in Leigh-on-Sea, Bromley Cross (Bolton), Fleetwood and Keswick – bringing friendly, inclusive running communities to four very different parts of the country.

Behind every new club is a local person who has decided to step forward and make something positive happen.

They come from different places, different backgrounds and have different experiences of running. Some have been involved in running for years. Others are relatively new to it. But they all have one important thing in common: a determination to make running truly accessible.

Running should be for everyone

You shouldn’t have to be fast, fit or experienced to join a running club.

You shouldn’t have to worry about keeping up, being left behind or not looking like a “proper runner”.

Shit Runners Club exists to give people another option: welcoming local communities where everyone can walk, jog or run at their own pace.

There’s no pressure, no competition and no egos. Just good people helping other people get moving, feel better and find somewhere they belong.

That simple idea started in Kendal – and the response from communities across the country shows just how many people believe in it.

Starting a club is easier than ever

We’ve made the process of starting a Shit Runners Club as simple and straightforward as possible.

Our Start Your Club guide walks you through everything step by step, from registering your interest and building a local team to choosing a location and organising your first run.

You’ll also receive practical resources, ready-to-use templates and ongoing support from people who have already done it.

You don’t need to have managed a running club before. You don’t need to be a coach, an elite athlete or the fastest runner in your town.

You simply need to care about people, believe in what SRC stands for and want to make running more accessible in your community.

Leigh-on-Sea, Bromley Cross, Fleetwood and Keswick are stepping forward.
