Something exciting is happening at Shit Runners Club.

Our first group of SRC volunteers is starting a programme of free training, paid for by SRC, covering running leadership, mental health awareness, inclusion and neurodiversity, alongside DBS checks.
But this isn’t really a story about training.
It’s about what happens next.
Good people, not good runners
There are people all over the country looking at SRC and thinking:
“We need one of these where I live.”
Maybe you’re one of them.
Starting an SRC doesn’t mean you need to be fast, qualified or an experienced run leader. We’re much more interested in finding good people than good runners.
People who care about their community. People who’ll welcome the nervous first-timer. People who understand that getting active shouldn’t be intimidating.
You bring the enthusiasm. We’ll help with the rest.
SRC provides the framework, brand, launch process, insurance, resources and ongoing support. And now we’re investing in the people behind our clubs too, with free volunteer training.
One volunteer can help hundreds
That’s where this gets interesting.
Train one volunteer and they can help deliver a free running session every week.
That session helps ten people. Then twenty. Then fifty. Some bring friends. Some become volunteers themselves.
The effect multiplies.
Start a club → find local volunteers → invest in them → get more people active → grow the community → repeat.
We don’t want to parachute running clubs into communities.
We want to find good people in communities and give them the support and skills to build their own.
Your town could be next
If you’ve ever thought “we need a Shit Runners Club here”, consider this your nudge.
You don’t need to know everything.
You don’t need to be a brilliant runner.
You just need to care about getting people moving.
Start a Shit Runners Club in your town →
Be Kind. Be Slow. Be Shit.
