Our very first run back in January saw 17 people turn up on a Wednesday night.
No big launch.
No fanfare.
Just a few people giving it a go.
Fast forward about six weeks and we’ve now had roughly one thousand of you come down to a Shit Runners Club run – whether that’s Monday or Thursday nights, Hills with Hils, Walk to Run, or one of the extra runs we’ve put on along the way.
And that’s what’s made this work.
It’s not slick marketing.
It’s not elite athletes.
It’s not expensive gear.
It’s people showing up.
People who haven’t run in years.
People who never thought they could run.
People coming back from injury.
People just wanting a bit of fresh air, a chat, or an excuse for a midweek pint after.
Massive thank you to everyone who’s been part of it so far – whether you’ve come once, come every week, volunteered, helped organise, spread the word on socials, or just told someone at work “you should try this, it’s actually alright”.
Special shout as well to our growing team of 15 volunteers and local partners like Craig Travel Kendal and Lay.by_Lattes who’ve backed us from very early on.
We’re only just getting started
